What we do

Research software engineering

We partner with researchers to design, develop, and maintain robust software tailored to the needs of academic research. Our team applies software best practices to transform prototypes into production-ready tools, ensuring that academic code is efficient, reproducible, and usable by the broader scientific community.

Data science & AI

We help researchers unlock the full potential of their data and models. Our data engineers, data scientists, and system administrators collaborate closely with faculty and research teams to design workflows, develop data pipelines, and operationalize advanced AI models on cloud infrastructure and the DSI computing cluster.

Tool building

We specialize in building interactive software, web applications, and AI tools to make research insights accessible and actionable. Whether you need a data dashboard, AI agent, public-facing platform, or a domain-specific application, we design and develop tools that drive engagement and amplify the impact of your work.

Our mission:

  • Expand the impact of Data Science Institute research via high-quality code, lowering the barrier for academic, government, and industrial researchers to adopt new tools and technologies.
  • Support translation of DSI projects to practical applications.
  • Strengthen grant proposals by increasing the availability of resources to faculty.
  • Decrease the costs associated with implementing the computational aspects of data science research projects by providing a centralized hub for technical resources.
  • Deliver social impact via collaboration with non-profit and community organizations.
  • Educate a diverse and inclusive next generation of ethically minded data science leaders who are driven to use their skills to create positive change in the world.
